Keepers
Keepers, one of the 4 Societies

Unlike the kingdoms around them, the Keepers sought neither territory nor influence.
The Keepers never swore themselves to any Warden. Their loyalty had always belonged solely to the King. While others debated which Warden deserved to rule, the Keepers maintained a simple conviction:
The Kingdom departed with the King.
Every throne since has been borrowed.
The ancient Covenant remains.
The King remains.
The heirs remain.
Only their memory has faded.
Their ancient banner bore the White Horse because one day its Rider must return.
Their magic reflected this calling. While others mastered destruction, conquest, or transformation, the Oracles preserved the old Covenant, and devoted themselves to magical preventions and cures. They purified poisoned lands, restrained curses, and revealed deceptions.
Many rulers sought their approval. A blessing from the White Horse lent an air of legitimacy that no army could command, for the people remembered that the Keepers alone had walked faithfully from the First Kingdom into the present age. The Keepers offered counsel freely to any ruler willing to receive it, yet pledged themselves to none. Their loyalty could not be bought, inherited, nor conquered.
Many Wardens sought to absorb or eliminate them. Yet every attempt failed. Whether by hidden sanctuaries, quiet allies, or providence none could explain, the Keepers endured where many greater powers did not.
Many dismissed them as relics clinging to a vanished Kingdom.
They simply waited.
