Turtlefolk

Turtlefolk originated among the Naja Crocodile, created as heavily protected amphibious troops for warfare beyond Naja's traditional environment, particularly underwater combat. Their donor stabilized broadly across Testudines, combining traits from sea turtles, freshwater turtles, snapping turtles, and tortoises within a humanoid frame. Their integrated carapace and plastron provided exceptional protection in three-dimensional underwater battles, while powerful jaws, strong swimming ability, and functional hands allowed them to remain effective soldiers both above and below the water.

Early Turtlefolk populations favored aquatic traits suited to their original purpose, but the species eventually spread far beyond Naja. In terrestrial regions, particularly colder and inland territories, heavier tortoise-like characteristics became increasingly common. Turtlefolk nevertheless remained a single highly variable people, with their broad Testudine ancestry allowing populations to thrive across remarkably different environments.
