Ruvund

Ruvund were a Beastfolk people created by the Fairbarrow Wardens through the Bioweaving of Humans with canids. They were developed as rapid-response infantry, possessing exceptional endurance and recovery that allowed them to sustain punishing overland marches while remaining combat-effective upon arrival. This made Ruvund particularly valuable where difficult terrain, heavy equipment, or prolonged operations limited cavalry and flying troops.

Their Bioweaving stabilized across Canidae, eventually producing numerous wolf, jackal, fox, wild-dog, and related phenotypes. Powerful voices and a tendency toward long-distance canid communication also became characteristic of the Ruvund, earning them the common nickname “Howlers.”
