The Great Apes

The Great Apes are enormous primates native to the ancient forests of the Naja frontier, standing nearly ten feet tall when fully upright. Despite their intimidating size, they are non-aggressive, non-sapient animals with intelligence and social behavior comparable to gorillas. Their immense strength, grasping feet, and unusually thick nails allow them to climb the colossal trunks of Naja's trees, where they spend much of their lives foraging and traveling above the forest floor.

Great Apes are distinguished by their dark brown coats, heavy brows, enlarged lower canines, and long shaggy fur around the lower arms and legs. Mature males develop a distinctive tan coloration across the back and shoulders. Generally peaceful when undisturbed, they are fiercely protective of their families and territories, and few predators are willing to challenge a full-grown Great Ape.
