The Twins

The Twin moons of Riftmoor, Kel and El named after Kelek and Eleos.

Riftmoor's two moons are collectively known as the Twins. The closer inner moon is the larger in the sky, is a pale grey, heavily cratered, and completes its  lunar cycle in roughly 30 days, and formed the basis of the lunar month. The smaller-looking outer moon completes a much slower cycle of roughly 91 days, with four cycles corresponding closely to Riftmoor's solar year and traditionally marking the seasons.

Both moons were later settled and terraformed, though their proximity to the Scar severely limited what could be accomplished. The inner moon remained predominantly grey and barren despite localized terraforming. Eleos found another solution for the outer moon, transforming it largely into an ocean world. Thereafter the Twins became further distinguishable in Riftmoor's sky: the large grey monthly moon and the smaller blue seasonal moon, their independent phases providing two overlapping celestial clocks. The moons  and solar orbit of Riftmoor remained the standard for calendars even after civilization expanded beyond even the Reach.
